Page 4 2019 Worship Guide LINCOLN DAILY NEWS Wednesday, December 4, 2019 T here’s another baby in our family. I’m speaking of course of a grandchild. We call her baby Emma. This will be her first Christmas. When baby Emma is in the room, it’s as if no one else exists. She gets all the attention. She gets all the hugs, all the encouragements, all the kisses. We all wait for her to tell us if she’s happy with us or unhappy. If ever unhappy, we all jump into performance mode and do our best circus acts trying to entertain her and return her to smiles and giggles. After all (cue our best baby voice) “she’s just a cute baby.” Yes, baby Emma gets a lot of attention. The same is true of a baby born 2,000 years ago. Very few people are threatened by baby Jesus. After all, he’s just a cute baby. Aww . . . but allow that baby to grow up and then tell us how to live? Well, that’s another story. Who gave Jesus the right to tell anyone how to live?
