On the farm if the donkey was braying in the cow pasture there might be a bobcat or coyote. If an indoor cat disappeared there might be an unknown person at the door. If the dog barked it might be a stranger in the neighborhood, or it was the mailman, or a car going by, and other imaginary noises. While a dog’s bark and presence does provide some peace of mind, reliance on ‘pet alarms’ does not provide reliable or specific information.
