On the farm if the donkey was braying in the cow pasture there might be a bobcat or coyote. If an indoor cat disappeared there might be an unknown person at the door. If the dog barked it might be a stranger in the neighborhood, or it was the mailman, or a car going by, and other imaginary noises. While a dog’s bark and presence does provide some peace of mind, reliance on ‘pet alarms’ does not provide reliable or specific information. Ideally, an alarm system that is reliable and can help us discern the nature of the threat provides a greater sense of security.
