Cereal Snack Mix
SUBMITTED by Jo, Logan County

1 (17.5 oz.) package crispy corn and rice square cereal
1 (16 oz.) package Golden Grahams cereal
1 1/2 cups sliced almonds or other nuts
1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
2 cups butter
2 cups white sugar
2 cups corn syrup

In a large bowl; toss together the corn and rice cereal, Golden Grahams, almonds and coconut. in a large saucepan, combine the butter, sugar and corn syrup; bring to a boil. Once boiling, continue to cook for 3 minutes. Pour over the cereals, using a large wooden spoon to stir the mixture until evenly coated. Spread out on a cookie sheet to cool. Store snack in zip-lock baggies.
Note: It is important to cook the syrup per directions and also to use that amount of cereal. Also I shared this recipe with a friend and she used half of the butter, sugar and corn syrup. She said it turned out fine.
