SUBMITTED by Caliea Koehler, Minnesota
“We found this in Grandma’s old recipe book and loved enough that we wanted to share it.”

1 ½ cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white corn syrup
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 ½ tablespoons caramel extract
1 box Crispix cereal
2 cups salted peanuts
2 cups pretzels

In saucepan, bring butter, sugar and syrup to a boil. Boil for 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in soda and extract. Pour over cereal, peanuts and pretzels. Spread in a well greased jelly roll pan and bake for one hour at 200 degree oven. After removing from oven: stir as it cools to break in pieces.
