Banana Bars

1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups mashed bananas
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
pinch salt
Frosting:
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
8 ounces cream cheese
4 cups powdered sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs, bananas and vanilla.
Combine flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Grease 10
x 15 inch pan. Pour batter into pan and bake at 350 degrees for
25 minutes. Cool.
Frosting: Cream butter and cream cheese. Add powdered sugar and
vanilla; beat until smooth. Put frosted bars in refrigerator to
set.
Food Editor’s Note: I made this recipe this week and doubled the
ingredients, then baked in a greased 11 x 15 inch pan. Really
Good!!!
