Raymond
F. Roloff, 76, of Lincoln died at 5:40 a.m. Sunday, April 2, 2000,
at his residence.
Funeral
services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at Holland &
Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln with Carl Wiggins officiating.
Burial
with military rites will be at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Peoria.
Visitation
will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Roloff
retired after serving as a greeter at the Lincoln Wal-Mart from 1985
to 1998.
He
served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant surgical technician in the
European Theater during World War II. He was decorated with medals
and honors and honorably discharged in 1945.
He
was born Sept. 11, 1923, in Peoria, a son of Frank E. and Sada R.
(Pfersick) Roloff. He married Margie E. Simmons May 17, 1946, in
Peoria. She survives.
Also
surviving are one son, Roger R. Roloff of New Paltz, New York; one
daughter, Lynn C. Fearneyhough of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Juli
L. Mortz and John R. Mortz; 3 step grandchildren; and one sister,
Marjorie J. Putney of Peoria.
He
was preceded in death by his parents.
Roloff
was sales manager of Bartlow Brothers in Rushville from 1952 to 1973
and owner of Schuy-Ville Theatre in Rushville from 1974 to 1984. He
was also a pianist and composer of songs from 1946 to 1999.
He
was a member of the American Legion Post #4 in Rushville and the
American Federation of Musicians Local #330 in Macomb.
