Neighbors
gathered throughout Lincoln last night.
Some groups just sat and visited enjoying a lovely evening
and neighborly fellowship. Others
had more elaborate plans. Bill
and Helen Stephenson hosted a potluck gathering with the Cotton
Collar Pickers band providing gentle bluegrass music in the
background. Over on
Ninth Street they had a progressive dinner.
Lincoln Police Chief Richard Ludolph, Neighborhood Watch
program coordinator Rich Montcalm, and several other officers
visited at the various gatherings.
A
recent transplant to Lincoln was heard to say, “This town is so
much like Mayberry RFD.”
With activities like these, we’re not far from that
fictitious mark.
