Bernice
M. Kohler, 80, of DeWitt County Nursing Home in Hallsville, died at
10:15 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at the nursing home.
A
graveside committal of ashes will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30,
2000, at New Union Cemetery in Lincoln. There is no visitation.
Mrs.
Kohler was a homemaker and was a cook for many years at the Cottage
Cafe in Lincoln.
She
was born March 21, 1920, at Campbellsville, Ky., to Obie and Jessie
May (Brockman) Spurling. She married Philip S. Kohler on Sept. 12,
1943, at St. Joseph, Mo. He survives.
Also
surviving are one daughter, Dorothy Jean Spurling Krotz of Lincoln;
one granddaughter, Tammi Deilkes of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three
great-grandchildren, Aaron, Darin and Kristina Deilkes, all of St.
Petersburg, Fla.; and three sisters, Lucille Mallinson and Geneva
Ingram of Lincoln and Thelma Rehder of Keokuk, Iowa.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Carl, Merlin
and James Patrick Spurling; four sisters, Elsie Snow, Leola Bosley,
Hazel Sapp and Margarite; and two granddaughters, Gina Marie Krotz
and Pamela Jean Krotz.
She
was of the Methodist faith.

Black, 44, of Middletown died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2000, in
a truck accident on Interstates 80 and 39 in LaSalle County.
Funeral
services were at 11 a.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Robert Henderson officiating.
Burial
was in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.
Visitation
was from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Black was a homemaker.
She
was born April 15, 1956, at Pana to Deneen and Betty (Stevenson)
Wheat. She married Samuel Black on Nov. 7, 1988, at Moss Point,
Miss.
Surviving
are her husband, of Middletown; her mother, of Hartsburg; three
sons, Shane (and Dawn) Wheat of Auburn, Jason Wheat of Middletown
and Aaron Wheat of Middletown; two daughters, Chastity Decker of
Hartsburg and Shelley Wheat of Middletown; two grandchildren; and
three brothers, Chuck Wheat of Creve Coeur, Mo., David Wheat of
Springfield and Larry Wheat of Loami.
She
was preceded in death by her father.
Memorials

Kara
A. Blythe Klug, 18, of Lincoln died at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, Aug.
24, 2000, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Funeral
services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Resurrection Church in
Lincoln, with Father Gilbert Gendenberger officiating.
Burial
will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
was Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Holy Resurrection Church, 204 Pekin
St. in Lincoln.
Mrs.
Klug was born Sept. 27, 1981, in Lincoln to Charles William and Mary
Jean (Sartoris) Blythe III. She married Jesse N. Klug on July 2,
2000, in Lincoln.
Surviving
are her husband, Jesse, of Lincoln; her parents, of Lincoln; two
sisters, Kyla (and Jeremy) Wasinger of Lincoln and Michelle (and
Chris) Burdette of Lincoln; one brother, William Blythe of Lincoln;
and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, David and Robin Klug of
Lincoln.
She
was preceded in death by her grandparents.
She
was a member of Holy Resurrection Church in Lincoln.
