Maxine
V. Klockenga, 84, of Lincoln, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29,
2000, at Christian Village in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Zion Lutheran Church
of Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Carnahan officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mrs.
Klockenga was a homemaker.
She
was born July 24, 1916, at Lincoln to William and Pearl (Woods)
Slayton. She married Frank L. Klockenga on May 3, 1936, in Lincoln.
He died May 20, 2000.
Surviving
are four sons, Darrell (and Shirley) Klockenga of Crown Point, Ind.,
Alvin (and Teresa) Klockenga of Lincoln, Frank (and Kara) Klockenga
of McLean and Vernon (and Janet) Klockenga of Lincoln; one daughter,
Linda (and David R.) Aper of Lincoln; 16 grandchildren; 19
great-grandchildren; and one brother, Lloyd Slayton of Lincoln.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband and four brothers.
She
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln, the Ladies Aid of
the church, and the Logan County Home Bureau.
Memorials
may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran School of
Lincoln.

Farris
Wanda
L. Farris, 76, of Lincoln died at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29,
2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Graveside
services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at New Union Cemetery,
Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating.
There
will be no visitation.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.
Mrs.
Farris was a homemaker.
She
was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served as a weather navigator.
She
was born Aug. 23, 1924, at Murdock to Luther T. and Eva Pauline
(Moore) Davis. She married Robert Farris on July 3, 1970, in
Corinth, Miss. He died in 1989.
Surviving
are two daughters, Marsha (and Roger) Huffman Doolin of Lincoln and
Eugenia (and Russell) Huffman Ryals of Lincoln; nine grandchildren;
and 14 great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and
three sisters.
She
was a member of St. Patrick’s Church of Wapella, VFW Auxiliary and
Knights of Columbus.
