Eunice Gehlbach

Eunice Gehlbach, 79, of Lincoln died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Holland & Barry Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Maffett officiating.

Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery at Beason.

Visitation will be one hour before service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gehlbach was a homemaker for her family.

She was born Jan. 29, 1921, at Springfield to Lauren H. and Luella H. (Harnsberger) Summers. She married Raymond K. Gehlbach on March 8, 1941, at Lincoln. He died March 17, 1970.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Lance Gehlbach of Roanoke, Sandy Bobbel of Elkhart and Heather Gehlbach of St. Louis, Mo.; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Charles L. Summers of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by one son, James A. Gehlbach.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She had been active in the Red Cross and also the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Memorials may be made to the Beason United Methodist Church or Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

Carl Bock

Carl A. Bock, 89, of Lincoln died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at St. John United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, at Holland & Barry Funeral Home.

Bock was a retired farmer. He and his wife farmed near Broadwell from 1938 until his retirement.

He was born Sept. 12, 1911, at Beason to Henry and Minnie (Awe) Bock. He married Lillian I. Furman on June 18, 1938, in Lincoln. She died Feb. 9, 1990.

Surviving are two children, Jean Netzley of Springfield and Aileen Anthony of Roswell, Ga.; five grandchildren; and one brother, Adam Bock of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by a son, C. Allen Bock; one sister, Hilda Bock; and three brothers, Walter, William and Henry Bock.

He was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, St. John’s Brotherhood and the Farm Bureau. He was a 4-H leader for 25 years and a Toastmaster for 30 years.

Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ.
