Rae Gass, 54, of Lincoln died at 9:25 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000,
at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Holland & Barry
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas Delk officiating.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
She
was born June 23, 1946, in Lincoln to Garland and Dorothy (Wernex)
Gass.
Surviving
are her mother, in Lincoln, and one sister, Sandra Gass of Plano,
Texas.
She
was preceded in death by her father.
She
was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

McCray
Ronald
D. McCray, 69, of Lincoln died at 5:25 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2000,
at his residence.
Funeral
services will be Friday, Dec. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tracy Thomas officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
McCray
retired in 1984 from Ball-Incon, where he had worked in maintenance
and machine repairs. He was self-employed in his own auto salvage
parts business for 25 years.
He
was born Sept. 3, 1931, in Lincoln to Walter and Stella Flossie
(Russell) McCray. He married Norma C. Karrick on Nov. 17, 1950, in
Atlanta. She died Aug. 7, 1997.
Surviving
are one son, Rod (and Debra) McCray of Atlanta; three daughters,
Karen "Kay" Wolpert, Shirley (and Tim) O’Donoghue and
Linda McCray, all of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Anderson of Lincoln and
Betty Heckler of Riverton; and four brothers, Paul McCray of
Lincoln, Kenneth McCray of Lincoln, LeRoy McCray of Lincoln and
Harold McCray of Canyon Lake, Texas.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one great-grandson.
He
was a member of Waynesville Christian Church in Waynesville.

Wiseman
Robert
C. "Bob" Wiseman, 62, of Lake Wales, Fla., died Friday,
Dec. 8, 2000, as a result of an automobile accident in Lake Wales.
Funeral
services will be Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 4 p.m. at South Lake Wales
Church of God, with the Rev. Jack Hilligoss of Burns Avenue Church
of God and Pastor Randal Montgomery officiating.
Burial
will be at a later date at Lake Wales Cemetery.
Arrangements
are being handled by Johnson Funeral Home, Lake Wales.
Wiseman
was the director of student accounts for Warner Southern College in
Lake Wales. He was an insurance broker with Robert C. Wiseman
Insurance Agency in Lincoln for 20 years before moving to the Lake
Wales area 14 years ago.
He
was born June 17, 1938, in Stoy to Clifford and Mildred Wiseman. He
grew up in Heyworth.
Surviving are his
wife, Naomi C. Wiseman of Lake Wales, Fla.; two sons, Timothy R.
(and Patricia D.) Wiseman of Winter Haven, Fla., and Christopher R.
(and Kara M.) Wiseman of Lake Wales, Fla.; one sister, Linda G.
Wasem of Springfield; and four brothers, Donald C. Wiseman of
Monroe, N.C., Roger M. Wiseman of Roanoke, Loren K. Wiseman of
Austin, Texas, and John C. Wiseman of Chicago.
He was preceded in
death by his parents.
He was a member of
the National Association of Life Underwriters. In Illinois he was
past president of the Lincoln Rotary Club, a member of Exchange
Club, taught adult Sunday School, was a little league baseball
coach, and was active in Lincoln's Railsplitting Festival. He was a
past treasurer for the Frostproof, Fla., Rotary Club. He was of the
Methodist faith.

Pansy
Pirtle Parrish Holmes, 80, of Lincoln, formerly of Mounds, died at
5:20 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital.
Graveside
services will be Friday, Dec. 15, at 11 a.m. at Spencer Heights
Cemetery, Mounds, with the Rev. Jerry Herring officiating.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at Barkett
Funeral Home in Mounds.
She
owned and operated a beauty shop in Mounds for many years before she
moved to Lincoln. She retired after being a beautician at Lincoln
Developmental Center for many years.
She
was born Jan. 20, 1920, in Bernie, Mo., to Theodore and Helen
(Allen) Rice. She married Vance Pirtle. He died in 1957. She later
married Lloyd Parrish. He died in 1981. She married Cleo Holmes in
Jonesboro, Ark., on Aug. 7, 1995. He survives, in Lincoln.
Also
surviving are one son, William (and Susan) Pirtle of Lincoln; two
grandchildren, Leigh Pirtle of Chicago and Jason Pirtle of Lincoln;
and one niece, Janice Bingham Crane.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and one sister,
Margie Bingham.
She
was a member of the Eastern Star.

Mary
Margaret Bratton, 80, of Urbana died at 6:35 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9,
2000, at Manorcare Nursing Home in Urbana.
Funeral
services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Renner-Wikoff
Chapel, Urbana, with the Rev. John Sims officiating.
Burial
will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Mayview.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel.
Mrs.
Bratton was a homemaker and farmed with her husband.
She
was born Feb. 4, 1920, in LaRue County, Ky., to Curtis and Nora
(Walters) Corum. She married Sam Bratton on March 10, 1940, in
Champaign.
Surviving
are two sons, Paul Bratton of Indianapolis, Ind., and Dale Bratton
of San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter, Nancy Drake of Beason; and
three grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, one sister and
one grandson.
She
was a constituent member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church and a
50-year member of the church’s evening Womans Club, a member of
Homemaker Extension Club and formerly was very active in the Farm
Bureau Square Dancing Club.
