[Logan County drivers are facing driving challenges pretty well with the latest snowfall. Already seasoned, drivers are responding to the less-than-ideal road conditions by slowing down and taking precautions. There are fewer accidents happening. Logan County Highway Department reports that most of the roads are drivable but becoming snow-packed. Jim Allen says, "Conditions are expected to worsen this afternoon as winds pick up and cause drifting."]

player of the week

[DEC. 29, 2000]  After almost single-handedly keeping Illinois in the Missouri game by putting together a first half that coach Bill Self called the "best by any Illini player this year," Brian Cook led the Fighting Illini in scoring at Texas as well to claim this week's top player prize.
