Wilma
M. Williams, 86, Morton, formerly of Atlanta, died at 12:05 a.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2000, at the Apostolic Christian Restmor Nursing
Home, Morton.
Funeral
services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Atlanta United
Methodist Church. The Rev. David Venter will officiate.
Burial
will be at Atlanta Cemetery.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Quiram Funeral Home, Atlanta,
and one hour before services at the church on Saturday.
Mrs.
Williams was employed by State Farm Insurance Company and the
Country Companies of Bloomington for many years.
She
was born Nov. 22, 1913, at rural Atlanta, a daughter of William
Fleming and Katherine Marie (Bock) Pittenger. She married John O.
Williams Nov. 19, 1950, at Atlanta. He died May 24, 1971.
Surviving
are one stepdaughter, Janet K. Hart of Phoenix, Ariz.; one
stepgrandson; two stepgranddaughters; two brothers, Eldon (and
Pauline) Pittenger of Morton and Melvin Pittenger of Dunlap; and
several nieces and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
She
was a member of the Atlanta Methodist Church, where she
participated actively as long as her health permitted.

Matilda Schmidt
Matilda
Louise Schmidt, 97, of Lincoln, died at 4:35 p.m. Saturday, Feb.
5, 2000, at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Zion
Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Carnahan and the
Rev. William Adam co-officiating.
Burial
will be at Old Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln and one hour prior to services at the
church on Wednesday.
Mrs.
Schmidt was a homemaker.
She
was born May 19, 1902, at Forest City, a daughter of Herman and
Anna (Stunkel) Boerger. She married Herman Dietrich Schmidt March
7, 1923, at Topeka, Ill. He died Jan. 11, 1980.
Surviving
are one son, Ralph H. (and Betty) Schmidt of Lincoln; two
daughters, Lenora M. (and Otto) Bargfrede of St. Louis, Mo., and
Helen L. (and Dean) Maaks of Lincoln; one niece, Shirley Yeager of
Hendley, Neb., who was raised in the Schmidt home; seven
grandchildren; and one sister, Wilhelmine Huber of Oregon, Wis.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant
daughter, Frances; two sisters; two brothers; and one grandson.
She
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Memorials
may be made to the church or to Zion Lutheran School, Lincoln.
