Charles
J. Sablotny, 87, of Lincoln died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15,
2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Private
graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Union
Cemetery in Lincoln, with Tony Shuff officiating.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Sablotny
retired after 27 years as an electrical contractor in Lincoln.
He
was born Nov. 1, 1912, in Lincoln, a son of Fred and Caroline (Brenne)
Sablotny. He married Lois Biggs Jan. 27, 1934, in Pekin. She
survives.
Also
surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Gerling of Bloomington and
Judith (and Larry) Braughton of Memphis, Tenn.; four
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Walter; and a
son-in-law, Gerald Gerling.
Following
retirement, Sablotny and his wife worked as lay missionaries in
Lebanon, Belgium, Germany, France, Sri Lanka, Alaska, Ahiti and
for two terms in Assiout, Egypt.
Memorials
may be made to Hospice of Central Illinois.
Harry
Hahn
Harry V. Hahn, 65,
of Mount Pulaski died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2000, at
St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.
Funeral services
will be Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with John Robertson officiating.
Burial will be at
Mount Pulaski Cemetery, with military rites at the graveside.
Visitation will be
Monday, Feb. 14, 2000. from 5 to 7 p.m.at the funeral home.
Hahn was retired
from Caterpillar at Decatur. He was also a well-known Abraham
Lincoln impersonator
He was born April
14, 1934, at Mount Pulaski, a son of Boyd and Clara Deavers Hahn.
He married Donna Olmstead Jan. 28, 1955, at Mount Pulaski. She
survives.
Also surviving are
two daughters, Annette (and Duane) Blaum of Mount Pulaski and
Teresa Hahn, all of Mount Pulaski; one son, Steve Hahn of Mount
Pulaski; two brothers, Herschel (and Mary) Hahn of Mount Pulaski
and Boyd (and Flossie) Hahn Jr. of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; three
sisters, Doris (and Robert) Faith of Lincoln, Lois (and Gene)
Byrne of Chestnut and Leota (and Buss) Lamar of Mount Pulaski; 11
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by both parents; one daughter, Rebecca Hahn Hummel; and one
sister, Helena Teichmann.
He was a nationally
known Abraham Lincoln look-alike, winning several competitions
including the look-alike contest at the 1981 Lincolnfest in
Springfield and the 1982 Hodgenville, Ky., contest. Hahn has a
photo of himself as "Abe" in "Heroes, Honchos, and
Humdingers," by Toby McDaniel. The book is a 30-year
accumulation of pictures and memorabilia of Toby McDaniel’s
newspaper column. He also appears in a book titled, "Moments
In Time" by the Associated Press.

Harold
Fink Harold
M. Fink, 86, of Lincoln died at 2:05 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000,
at Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln. Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at St. Peter's
Lutheran Church in Emden, with the Rev. Darby Lawrence officating. Burial
will be at Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg. Visitation
will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Holland & Barry Funeral
Home in Lincoln and one hour before the service at the church in
Emden on Friday. Fink
had farmed for 50 years in the Emden area. He
was born April 22, 1913, at Hartsburg, a son of Harm E. and Anna (Rademaker)
Fink. He married Mary Lou Mills Aug. 10, 1960, at Emden. She
survives, in Lincoln. Also
surviving are two daughters and one stepdaughter, Vicki (and
Jerry) Crane of Delavan, Valerie (and Tom) Alberts of Emden
and Marsha (and Bill) Langellier of Lincoln; seven grandchildren
and two stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin D. Fink, and one
grandson, Timothy R. Crane. Fink
was baptized July 11, 1913, and confirmed April 1, 1928. He
attended the Hartsburg-Emden schools. He
was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Emden, where he was
a former trustee and secretary and a member of the
Brotherhood. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #914 and
the Logan County Farm Bureau and was a former town clerk of
