Brooks Eliza
Brooks, 98, of Atlanta, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday, January 28,
2000, at Bartmann Health Care Center in rural Atlanta, where she had been a resident
for one year.
Funeral
services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Atlanta Christian
Church, with Mr. David Harmon officiating.
Burial will be at the
Atlanta Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the
services at the church.
Mrs.
Brooks was a home maker.
She
was born
March 11, 1901, at Morantown, Kentucky, a daughter of Edward and
Mollie Ann (Baker) Austin. She married Ord Brooks October 1, 1919, in
Morgantown, Kentucky. He died in July 1988.
Survivors
include one daughter, Edna (and Bill) Gaither of Atlanta; four sons,
Glenn (and Mary) Brooks of Atlanta, Kenneth (and Katie) Brooks of Lincoln,
Herman Brooks of Atlanta, and Harold (and Barbara) Brooks of Murfreesboro,
Tennessee; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by one son, Charles; five brothers; three
sisters;and four grandchildren.
Memorial
contributions may be made to the Atlanta Christian Church or
Hospice Care of Illinois, 720 N. Bond Avenue, Springfield, IL
62704.

Fern
P. Schrader, 94, of Lincoln, died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday, January
29, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 1, at First
United Methodist Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Larry Maffett
officiating.
Burial
will be at Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church.
Mrs.
Schrader was a homemaker.
She
was born February 27, 1905, at New Holland, a daughter of George
W. and Nora (Bolinger) Blaum. She married Clarence F. Schrader
January 21, 1925, at Pekin. He died November 9, 1965.
Surviving
are four sons, Paul (and Pat) Schrader of Streamwood, Herb (and
Virginia) Schrader of Rochester, Wayne (and Marlene) Schrader of
Lincoln and Ronald (and Joann) Schrader of Lincoln; three
daughters, Kay (and Ron) Jones, Ann Miller and Lois Schrader, all
of Lincoln; 24 grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren; 38
great-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren; and 38
great-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son,
Clarence W. "Jim" Schrader; six sisters; and four
brothers. She was the last of her immediate family.
She
was a member of First United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of
America and American Legion Auxiliary #263.
Memorials
may be made to her church or to the donor's choice.
