Erwin
Leroy Shawgo, 71, of Lincoln died at 6:27 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2000,
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Funeral
services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, at Lincoln Christian
Church, with Tom Gerdts officiating. A eulogy will be given by
Gerald Carter.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Shawgo
was an underground telephone contractor for Continental Telephone.
He was also a licensed plumber and electrician.
He
was born Jan. 28, 1929, at Mason City, a son of Bert and Minta
(Becker) Shawgo. He married Diane Louise Wright Aug. 28, 1946, at
Lincoln. She survives.
Also
surviving are three sons, Robin (and Vicki) Shawgo of Alva, Fla.,
David (and Nancy) Shawgo of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Ronald (and Cody)
Shawgo of Lincoln; three daughters, Cathie (and David) Armstrong of
Chenoa, Barbara (and Roger) Zimmerman of Mason City, and Lisa (and
Daniel) Schmidt of Wichita, Kan.; 10 grandchildren; one brother,
Wayne Shawgo of Mason City; and two sisters, Glenna Griffin and Erma
Schussele (Erwin’s twin), both of Mason City.
He
was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
He
worked with VBS mission teams through Lincoln Christian Church.
Memorials
may be made to Lincoln Christian Church, Lincoln-Logan Food Pantry
or Midwest Heart Care at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria.

Lanterman
Georgia
Belle Lanterman, 101, of Mount Pulaski, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday,
July 6, 2000, at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.
Funeral
services, with Bill Shanle officiating, will be at 1 p.m. Monday,
July 10, from Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
Burial
will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Visitation
will be one hour before the services at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Lanterman was born Nov. 23, 1898, at rural Cornland, a daughter of
Lewis and Frances (Staggers) Luckhart. She married Raymond Lanterman
on June 2, 1917, at Springfield. He died in 1964.
Surviving
are one daughter, Erma (and Roy) Conant of Springfield; seven
grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild;
and several nieces and nephews.
She
was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Melba Arney; one
son, Forrest Lanterman; one brother, Rupert Luckhart; two sisters,
Rena Bryson and Blanche Fulcher; and two great-grandchildren.
She
was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church and a 50-year member of
the Lincoln Eastern Star.
Memorials
may be made to Vonderlieth Living Center.
