Frank
Passmore, 80, of Mount Pulaski, died at 1:13 a.m. Friday, July 21,
2000, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral
services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2000, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev. Mike Drake officiating.
Burial
will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Visitation
will be one hour prior to the services on Monday at the funeral home
in Mount Pulaski.
Passmore
had been employed as business manager at Langellier Ford Motor
Company and as a schoolteacher.
He
was born June 4, 1920, at Springfield. His parents were Frank Dial
Passmore and Anita Spitler. He married Violet May Reynolds on May
31, 1944, in Cambridge, England.
Surviving
are his wife, Violet May Passmore of Mount Pulaski; one daughter,
Victoria Lee Caudill of Decatur; one granddaughter, Jennifer Hollis
of Decatur; one grandson, Shane Hollis of Sykesville, Md.; and one
sister, Mary Helen Rowland of Lincoln.
He
was preceded in death by his parents.
He
was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mount Pulaski and of
the Mount Pulaski American Legion.

"Vi" Johnson Schmidt, 77, of Lincoln died at 12:13 p.m.
Monday, July 24, 2000, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Funeral
services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at Immanuel Lutheran
Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Joseph Bleakley officiating.
Burial
will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 12 to 2 p.m. before the service at the church on
Thursday. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln, is handling
arrangements.
Mrs.
Schmidt was a housewife.
She
was born April 21, 1923, at Wadena, Saskatchewan, Canada. Her
parents were Frederick Sigvard and Mary Anna (Severson) Johnson. She
married Ralph E. Schmidt on Jan. 10, 1946, in Winnipeg, Manitoba,
Canada.
Surviving
are her husband, Ralph, of Lincoln; one son, Floyd Frederick (and
Robin) Schmidt of Springfield; one grandson, Tyler Schmidt of
Springfield; three granddaughters, Heidi, Abbigail and Clara
Schmidt, all of Springfield; one step-granddaughter, Staci (and
Larry) Lester of Chicago; and one sister, Florence Scott of Atikokan,
Ontario, Canada.
She
was preceded in death by her mother, her father, three brothers and
two sisters, all of Canada.
She
was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lincoln, the Disabled
American Veterans Auxiliary #95 and Lincoln Emblem Club #433.
