Charlene Schrader, 72, of Lincoln, died at 3:20 p.m. Friday, July
28, 2000, at her home.
Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at First United
Methodist Church of Lincoln, with the Rev. Larry Maffett
officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home, Lincoln.
Mrs.
Schrader retired in 1982 after working 27 years at Illico Oil
Company, Lincoln. She was a part-time secretary at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
She
was born April 14, 1928, in Bement, a daughter of Lester Kenneth and
LaNora Tabitha (Karr) Petersen Sr. She married Clarence W.
"Jim" Schrader in Lincoln on Oct. 6, 1946. He died March
18, 1996.
Surviving
are one son, Dennis Ray (and Marcia) Schrader of Lincoln; two
daughters, Roseann (and David) Coers of New Holland and Suzann (and
Mike) Foster of Lincoln; six grandchildren and two
step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two
step-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Lester Kenneth
Petersen Jr. of Lincoln, Gayle Lee Petersen of Creal Springs, Fla.,
and Warren Eugene Petersen of Port Charlotte, Fla.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister,
Yvonne.
She
was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lincoln; a life
member and past president of American Legion Auxiliary 263; past
president of Logan County Council, 17th District and 4th
Division Auxiliary; a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Moose 1109
and of the Tri-Police Association; an election judge for East
Lincoln No. 1 for 12 years; and a past 20-year member of American
Business Women’s Association, Lincoln Heritage Charter Chapter.
Memorials
may be made to American Legion Auxiliary 263 for veterans programs
or to Hospice of Central Illinois.

K. Liesman, 96, of Lincoln died at 1:05 p.m. Thursday, July 27,
2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, July 31, at Holy Family Church
in Lincoln with the Rev. Edward Higgins officiating.
Burial
will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at Kerrigan Funeral Home
in Lincoln with the rosary recited at 4 p.m. and the wake service at
6:45 p.m.
Mrs.
Liesman worked at the former Lincoln Garment Factory for many years
and retired in 1969. She was employed at the munition plant in
Illiopolis during World War II.
She
was born Jan. 8, 1904, in Lincoln. Her parents were Matt and Mary
(Awe) Minder. She married Raymond Liesman in Lincoln in 1936. He
died March 24, 1999.
Surviving
are one son, Gene Liesman of St. Charles; three grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; and one brother, Orville Minder of Lincoln.
She
was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
She
was a member of Holy Family Church in Lincoln.

I. Anderson Shawgo, 86, of Elkhart, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, July
27, 2000, at her residence.
Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 31, at Elkhart Christian
Church in Elkhart, with Mike Drake officiating.
Burial
will be in Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart.
Visitation
will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln.
Mrs.
Shawgo worked as a registered nurse for 36 years.
She
was born July 22, 1914, at Elkhart, a daughter of Charles Edwin and
Luna Margaret (Harman) Anderson. She married James Wesley Shawgo
Sept. 2, 1938, in Valparaiso, Ind. He died July 30, 1999.
Surviving
are two sons, Ronald (and Linda) Shawgo of Nixa, Mo., and James (and
Margaret) Shawgo of Bloomington; one daughter, Judith Coffey of
Peoria; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She
was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She
was a member of the Elkhart Christian Church, a 50-year member of
the Eastern Star and a charter member of the Elkhart Historical
Society.

Frieda Barrick, 85, of Lincoln died at 1:17 p.m. Thursday, July 27,
2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be Saturday, July 29, at 11 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Father Steven Bird officiating.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery in Lincoln.
Visitation
will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Barrick had been a manicurist in Chicago.
She
was born Sept. 25, 1914, at Hartsburg, a daughter of Nicholas and
Minnie (Marsh) Schaper. She married Frank Barrick in Lincoln on June
14, 1976. He preceded her in death.
Surviving
are two sisters, Selma Gorens and Leona Robbins, both of Lincoln;
one niece, Marcia Mulcahy of Springfield; and one nephew, Ron
Robbins of Lincoln.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister,
Bernice Schaper.
She
was a member of Holy Family Church.
