Dan J. LaValle, 90, of Lincoln, died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Kenneth Hummel officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Kerrigan Funeral Home, Lincoln, with the rosary and wake service at 4:45 p.m. LaValle was a cashier at Caterpillar Tractor Co in Peoria for 30 years. He retired in 1972. He was born Oct. 12, 1909, in Chicago, a son of Michael and Antoinette (Clampetro) LaValle. He married Margaret Eckert Aug. 23, 1934, in Lincoln. She died April 11, 1975. Surviving are two sons, Daniel LaValle of Franklin Park and Bernard LaValle of Lincoln; one sister, Lucille Casells of Berwyn; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and one sister. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Knights of Columbus, Elks Lodge, Odd Fellows and the Sons and Daughters of Odd Fellows Orphans Home, all in Lincoln. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Wilfred Stoltzenburg, 68, of Lincoln, died at 4:06 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital I.C.U. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Lincoln, with the Rev. Roger David officiating. Burial, with military rites, will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Holland & Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln and one hour before the service time at the church. Stoltzenburg had worked as a foreman at Ball In-Con in Lincoln. He retired in 1987. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was born Sept. 30, 1931, at Lincoln, a son of Armin and Nelva (Goldhammer) Stoltzenburg. He is survived by five sons, Michael Stoltzenburg of Beason, Carl Stoltzenburg of Mount Pulaski, David Stoltzenburg of Lincoln, Andy Sager of Lincoln and Geoff Sager of Hammond, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; one brother, William Stoltzenburg of Oreana; and one sister, Wanda Lolling of Hartsburg. He was preceded in death by one sister, Louiella Soltzenburg. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Lincoln. Memorials may be made to the church.
