Mary
Finley Goebel, 78, of Lincoln, died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, May 12,
2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 15, at Holland &
Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. James Cravens
officiating. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 14, at the funeral
home.
Mrs.
Goebel was a homemaker.
She
was born Oct. 16, 1921, in Lincoln, a daughter of John and Mary
Finley (Brown) Holmes. She married Dr. Dean E. Goebel Sept. 2, 1944,
in Chicago. He died March 6, 1992.
Surviving
are one son, Douglas M. (and Patricia L.) Goebel of El Paso; one
grandson, Douglas R. Goebel of Utica; one granddaughter, Shannon M.
Goebel of Chicago; a cousin, Shirley Edwards of Lincoln; and a
sister-in-law, Ruth Aldendifer of Lincoln.
Mrs.
Goebel was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Abraham Lincoln
Chapter NSDAR and the Friday Book Club.
She
had attended Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., for one year and
then graduated from Lincoln College.
Memorials
may be made to Dr. Wayne J. Schall Hospice or Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

M. Seaman, 66, of Lincoln died at 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2000,
at her home.
Funeral
services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 13, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln with Tom Gerdts officiating.
Burial
will be in Mason City Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln.
Mrs.
Seaman was a retired waitress who had worked in area restaurants.
She had also been employed in the shoe department at Wal-Mart.
She
was born Jan 15, 1934, at Mason City, a daughter of John L. and
Alura E. (McCoy) Duel. She married James W. Seaman in Lincoln in
1953. He died in 1979.
Surviving
are two sons, Jerry (and Michelle) Seaman of Heber Springs, Ark.,
and Mark (and Debra) Seaman of Silver Springs, Fla.; three
daughters, Karen LaRue of Pardeeville, Wis., Gail (and Myron) Slack
of Lincoln and Liane (and George) Lynch of Lincoln; 16
grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (and
Sherry) Duel of Muncie, Ind., and Ronald (and Marilyn) Duel of
Anchorage, Alaska; and six sisters, Gwen (and Bob) Riddell of Mason
City, Norma (and Don) Price of Bath, Gloria (and Fred) Lenardt of
Lincoln, Judy Davenport of Greenview, Linda Ayers of Mount Pulaski
and Diana (and Jerry) Tacker of Godfrey.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.
She
was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.
Memorials
may be made to the American Lung Assocation or Lincoln Christian
Church.

Johnson Ketcham
Bonnie
L. Johnson Ketcham, 82, of Lincoln died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, May
10, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Burial
will be in Antioch Cemetery, Bebee, Ark.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 12, at Westbrook Funeral Home.
Local arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home.
Mrs.
Ketcham had been a nurse’s aide at St. Clara’s Manor and was
previously employed at Stetson China Co. and Lincoln Developmental
Center, all in Lincoln.
She
was born June 12, 1917, in Scotland, Ark., a daughter of Parmie and
Izora (Campbell) McCoy. She married James M. Maxey Sept. 18, 1936.
He died in April 1949. She married Benjamin Johnson March 15, 1961.
He died in February 2000.
Surviving
are three sons, Ivan (and Dora) Maxey of Atlanta, Daniel Maxey of
Lincoln and Benjamin Johnson of Lincoln; four daughters, Jimma Lee
(Lee) Morris of Austin, Ark., Phyllis Dobbs of Lincoln, Reta (and
Ray) Satterly of Louisville, Ky., and Kay Hinds of McRae, Ark.; 25
grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three daughters,
three brothers, one sister, two grandsons and one
great-granddaughter. She was the last of her immediate family.
She
was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Lincoln.
