honors employees

13, 2000] Lincoln
Elementary School District 27’s teachers, staff, board members and
guests filled the Knights of Columbus hall Friday night for the 16th
Annual Recognition Dinner. Bookkeeper
Pat Kelly and junior high school social studies teacher, Joe Haning,
were honored upon their retirement from the district.
Haning joined the district in 1964, Kelly in 1976.

Mount
Pulaski courthouse center of life
in town

13, 2000] The Mount
Pulaski Courthouse, where Abraham Lincoln once practiced law, has
always been at the center of life in the town.
This historic site on the city square is one of the only two
surviving Eighth Judicial Circuit courthouses in Illinois.
As most of the residents of Mount Pulaski can tell you, in its
second floor courtroom, you can stand on the same floorboards where
Lincoln once stood.
