Carl Larson

Carl L. Larson, 76, of Lincoln, formerly of Sun City, Ariz., died at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at his residence in Lincoln.

Cremation rites were accorded, and memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Larson had worked as a dispatcher for Dravo Mechling Barge Line in Pittsburgh, Penn.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1942 to 1946.

He was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Joliet to Carl R. and Amy (Garmon) Larson. He married Doris Prynn on May 21, 1950, in Joliet. She died Nov. 19, 1995.

Surviving are two daughters, Maureen (and husband Ed) White of Lincoln and Sandra (and husband Glenn) Bell of Pittsburg, Penn.; one son, Steven Larson of Chicago; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Winifred Irvin or Frankfort and Helen (and husband Dr. Richard) Nola of Honolulu, Hawaii.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Jerald Larson.

He was a member of the Mount Joliet Lodge 42 A.F. & A.M.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Central Illinois.

Kenneth L. “Goody” Boyer

Kenneth L. "Goody" Boyer of rural Middletown died at St. John's Hospital in Springfield Friday, November 3, 2000, at 1:49 p.m. Boyer, a grain and livestock farmer, was 62 years old.

Boyer was born January 25, 1938 near Middletown, the son of Ted and Hazel Taylor Boyer. Surviving are a daughter, Toni Leonard [Brad], Lincoln; a stepdaughter, Laura Malcott, McLean; stepson, John Malcott, Jacksonville; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are three brothers, Dean Boyer and Earl Boyer of Middletown and Duane Boyer of Elkhart, and a sister, Joyce Horney of Middletown.

Boyer was a member of Irish Grove Presbyterian Church in Middletown. A funeral will be held at the church at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, with Rev. James Broch officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln. Boyer will be buried at Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart.

Memorials may be made to the Middletown Rescue Squad, Irish Grove Presbyterian Church, or Middletown Presbyterian Church.
