Lincoln College wrestlers split first two meets at Muskogen Open

[NOV. 11, 2000]  Lincoln College opened its wrestling season at Muskegon, Mi. Friday and split a pair of dual meets. The Lynx lost to Grand Valley State University in the first match, 33-9. The Lynx rebounded in the second match to post a 30-16 victory over Olivet College. Lincoln will be wrestling again Saturday in the Muskegon Open.

[NOV. 11, 2000]  The Lincoln College men's swimming team posted a 112-49 victory over Millikin University in Decatur Friday while the women's swimming team suffered a 69-48 loss to the Big Blue.

A funny thing happened while my credit card was still in my wallet

[NOV. 11, 2000]  It probably happens thousands of times each month, but it had never happened to me, or to anyone I know. I was minding my own business, happily paying my bills, when out of nowhere I was robbed of nearly $1600 dollars and would have continued to involuntarily be robbed if I hadn't noticed that the robber bought pizza from Papa John's with my money.

[NOV. 11, 2000]  Boy Scout Troop 6 will have their annual chili supper on Saturday, Nov. 18. The supper will be served at St. John United Church of Christ from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Red Cross appeals for blood donations

[NOV. 11, 2000]  Due to a blood shortage nationwide, the American Red Cross is asking for immediate blood donations to boost critically low supplies. Virtually all of the Red Cross’s 36 Blood Services regions have been appealing for donations in local communities in recent weeks. However, despite these efforts, a critical need for all blood types remains. All eligible donors are encouraged to call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE to schedule a blood donation appointment.
