Question:

Looking back on your high school career, would you prefer a nine- or 12-month school year?

Responses from  LCHS students are below.

I would prefer 12 months because I get bored during the three months during the summer. On a 12-month schedule, you would work for a time period, look forward to some time off and then be ready to come back. Also less time would be required for reviewing.

 

[Colleen Fitzsimmons, senior]

A 12-month schedule would be better. You forget so much over the summer, especially in math. Math teachers always have to review extensively.

 

 

[J.W. Robb, senior]

A nine-month school year. It’s easier to keep a job if you have three consecutive months to work.
