Leonard
William Fox, 82, of Lincoln died at 6:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2000,
at Maple Ridge Health Care Center in Lincoln.
Graveside
services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at New Union Cemetery in
Lincoln, with the Rev. Larry Maffett officiating.
Visitation
will be from noon until 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Fox
worked on the family farm and later was self-employed in a
farm-related business. He also worked for several manufacturers in
the Decatur area.
He
was born Nov. 10, 1917, at Decatur to William Charles and Nora
Saloma (Trimmer) Fox. He married Erie Joy Belcher on May 25, 1935,
at Bearsdale. She survives, in Lincoln.
Also
surviving are one son, Gary Leonard of Rockford; one daughter, Karen
(and Michael) Booher of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Kathleen Fox of
Chicago, Teresa Booher of Lincoln, Jefferey (and Sharron) Fox of
Hoffman Estates and David (and Anne) Booher of Indianapolis, Ind.;
two great-granddaughters, Taylor Booher of Indianapolis, Ind., and
Blayne Fox of Hoffman Estates; and several nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters. He was the
last member of his immediate family.
He
was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur.
He
attended school in the Decatur area. He was involved with the
Decatur Bowling Association for 14 years, serving as president for
six years.
He
and his wife moved to Lincoln in 1988 and lived at Friendship Manor.
He had been a resident of Maple Ridge since 1999.
He
was a devoted husband and family man.
Memorials

Society.

Daniel
C. Ott, 42, of Sebree, Ky., formerly of Lincoln, died at 3:20 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Clay, Ky.
Services
will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Zion Lutheran Church in
Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark D. Carnahan officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
was Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home
in Lincoln.
Ott
was director of operations at Ervin Cable Construction Company of
Sturgis, Ky.
He
was born Aug. 15, 1958, at Pekin to Charles and Marjorie (Reigert)
Ott. He married Susan L. George.
Surviving
are his wife, Susan George Ott of Sebree, Ky.; three sons, Steven,
Samuel and Spencer Ott of Sebree, Ky.; three daughters, Sarah,
Savannah and Steffanie Ott of Sebree, Ky.; his parents, Charles and
Marjorie Ott of Lincoln; one brother, Douglas S. Ott of Boise,
Idaho; and two sisters, Terri Lee Keith of Normal and Cynthia A.
Buchwald of Manvulle, Texas.
He
was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He
was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
He
graduated from Lincoln High School and Simpson College in Indianola,
Iowa.

Robert
Neff
Robert
C. Neff, 80, of Lincoln died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at
Crestview Healthcare Center in Clinton.
Funeral
services will be Friday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Doug Rettig officiating.
Burial,
with military rites, will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.
Visitation
will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Lincoln.
Before
his retirement, Neff was owner and operator of Bob’s Variety Shop
in Lincoln for 18 years. He had also been employed 19 years at
Stetson China Co. in Lincoln.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1943 to 1946.
He
was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Lincoln to Kenneth and Elby (Hoy) Neff.
He married Phyllis "Louise" Rushlow on Feb. 27, 1943, in
St. Louis. She survives.
Also
surviving are one daughter, Sherry (and Bob) Geriets of Lincoln;
three granddaughters, Lee (and Kevin) Boward of Middletown, Tracy
Geriets (and John Cotner) of Heyworth and Sheila Neff Hansen; two
grandsons, John and David Neff; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Juanita Wilham
and Hazel McCall; and one son, Robert C. Neff Jr.
He
enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards with his friends.

Britton
Lucille
Britton of Chicago died at 8:38 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at
Lincoln.
A
memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Lincoln, with Father Thomas Taylor officiating.
Cremation
rites were accorded, and ashes will be buried at St. Peter &
Paul Cemetery, Nauvoo, at a later date. Holland & Barry Funeral
Home is handling arrangements.
Mrs.
Britton was a homemaker for her family.
She
was born at Thornton, Iowa, to Ackley and Estella (Duranty) Brogan.
She married Harry Britton in Chicago. He died May 30, 1977.
Surviving
are her children, Terry L. Britton of Forest Park and Barbara O’Donohue
of Lincoln; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one
brother, Lawrence Brogan of Chicago.
She
was preceded in death by two siblings, Mary Slater and Francis
Brogan.
