Robert
C. Neff, 80, of Lincoln died at 8:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at
Crestview Healthcare Center in Clinton.
Funeral
services will be Friday, Oct. 27, at 2 p.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Doug Rettig officiating.
Burial,
with military rites, will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.
Visitation
will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Lincoln.
Before
his retirement, Neff was owner and operator of Bob’s Variety Shop
in Lincoln for 18 years. He had also been employed 19 years at
Stetson China Co. in Lincoln.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1943 to 1946.
He
was born Jan. 23, 1920, in Lincoln to Kenneth and Elby (Hoy) Neff.
He married Phyllis "Louise" Rushlow on Feb. 27, 1943, in
St. Louis. She survives.
Also
surviving are one daughter, Sherry (and Bob) Geriets of Lincoln;
three granddaughters, Lee (and Kevin) Boward of Middletown, Tracy
Geriets (and John Cotner) of Heyworth and Sheila Neff Hansen; two
grandsons, John and David Neff; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Juanita Wilham
and Hazel McCall; and one son, Robert C. Neff Jr.
He
enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards with his friends.

Hayden

Phil Hayden, 90, of Lincoln died Friday morning, Oct. 27, 2000, at
Maple Ridge Care Centre.
Funeral
services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2000, at Holland &
Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Dennis Blankenship
officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be during the two hours before the service at the funeral home
on Tuesday.
Hayden
farmed in Pulaski County in southern Illinois, was a carpet layer in
California, and was also an investor in Lincoln.
He
was born Nov. 6, 1909, at Mounds to Earnleigh and Mildred (Full)
Hayden. He married Marjorie Louise Austin on Jan. 8, 1930, at
Jonesboro. She died March 24, 1993.
Surviving
are his children, Mrs. Beverly Ann (and husband Earl) Mattson of
Lincoln, Lee L. Hayden Sr. of Lincoln and Keith K. Hayden of
Springfield; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four
great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Herbert Hayden of Mounds
and Donald Hayden of Gresham, Ore.; and one stepsister, Irene Day.
