Caroline Sheehan, 89, of McKinley Court Nursing Home in Decatur died
at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, at the nursing home.
Funeral
services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at St.
Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Mount Pulaski, with Father Patrick
DeMeulemeester officiating.
Burial
will be in Lake Bank Cemetery, rural Latham.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the rosary at 4 p.m.
Mrs.
Sheehan had retired from Stahl’s Furniture in Mount Pulaski, where
she was a salesperson.
She
was born Aug. 22, 1911, at Illiopolis to Woodson "Bert"
and Josephine (Kilhoffer) Wilkerson. She married Vincent
"Ike" Sheehan at Visitation Church in Illiopolis on Oct.
2, 1937. He died Dec. 3, 1986.
Surviving
are one daughter, Carolyn (and Richard) Blundy of Decatur; two
grandchildren, Brian (and Jacqueline) Townsend of Beavercreek, Ohio,
and Bradley (and Sandra) Townsend of Carlisle, Ohio; six
great-grandchildren, Brittany, Aubrey and Brandon Townsend of
Carlisle, Ohio, and Kristen, Stephanie and Megan Townsend of
Beavercreek, Ohio; two step-grandchildren, Rick Blundy of Decatur
and Barry (and Kelly) Blundy of Nashville, Tenn.; and four
step-great-grandchildren, Rihana and Cassidy Blundy of Maroa and
Nathan and Kolton Blundy of Nashville, Tenn.
She
was preceded in death by her husband and one sister.
She
was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church of Mount Pulaski
and of the Altar and Rosary Society of the church. She was also a
member of the Logan County Home Extension.
Memorials
may be made to her church or to the Altar and Rosary Society of the
church.

Stallings
Janice
E. Stallings, 77, of Lincoln died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6,
2000, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Graveside
services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at Old Union Cemetery in
Lincoln, with the Rev. Paul Gilmore officiating.
There
will be no visitation.
Arrangements
are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
Ms.
Stallings was a homemaker.
She
served in the Marine Corps from 1943 to 1945, during World War II.
She
was born July 28, 1923, in Peoria to Roy and Ethel (Sparks)
Stallings.
She
was the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by
her parents, one brother and one sister.
