Elijah
"Lydge" Goins, 65, of Springfield died at 2 p.m. Monday,
Feb. 5, 2001, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Memorial
services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Christian Assembly
Church in Springfield, with the Rev. Nellie Rhodes officiating.
Goins
was a retired laborer from Construction-Local 477 Laborer’s
International.
He
was born Jan. 11, 1936, at Sneedville, Tenn., to Lambert and Birdie
(Brewer) Goins.
Surviving
are one son, Jon L. Goins of Springfield; two daughters, Vivian
"Dee Dee" (Ryan) Coston of Riverton and Lijalane Frye of
Lincoln; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother,
Clifford Goins of Mount Ayers, Md.; three sisters, Hazel Gipson of
Jonesville, Va., Georgia Jacobs of Riverton and Nellie Clark of
Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam, Garfield and Coy Goins;
and two sisters, Helen Morgan and Edith Bell.
He
was a member of Christian Assembly Church.

Antionette Gallas, 29, of Riverton died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at St.
John’s Hospital in Springfield.
Funeral
services, with the Rev. Dustin Fulton officiating, will be at 10:30
a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at Mott & Henning Funeral Home in Athens.
Burial
will be in Elkhart Cemetery.
Friends
may call at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
She
was born April 7, 1971, in Springfield. She is the daughter of
Shearlene Frakes-Bartman of Riverton and Anthony Gallas of Chicago.
Surviving
are one son, Richard A. Gallas of Riverton; one daughter, Kelsie
Gallas of Mason city; her mother, of Riverton; two brothers, Howard
"Tony" Gallas of Riverton and Richard "Rick"
Gallas of Lincoln; grandmother Irene Frakes of Springfield; and
several aunts and uncles, Wilma Brennan of Athens, Gloria Frakes of
Springfield, Evelyn (husband Bob) Bond of Bourbonnais, Jeannie
(husband Stan) Fulton of Ashland, Harvey Frakes of Riverton, Kevin
(wife Jackie) Frakes of Springfield and Eugene (wife Jeanie) Frakes
of Athens.
She
was preceded in death by a grandfather, Howard Frakes of
Williamsville.

Betty
J. Walker, 74, of Lincoln died at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001,
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Mrs.
Walker was cremated. There will be no visitation or funeral
services. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln was in
charge of arrangements.
Mrs.
Walker was a housewife.
She
was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Lincoln to Elmer and Emma (Hurley)
Sherwood. She married Robert L. Walker in Clarksdale, Miss., on Jan.
11, 1947.
Surviving
are her husband, of Lincoln; two daughters, Suzette Hedenberg of
Decatur and Shelley Walker of Blue Mound; three grandchildren; and
two sisters, Louella Shafer of Lincoln and Mildred Shelton of
Burtonview.
She
was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials

Lorraine Plaster, 81, of Penfield, N.Y., formerly of Lincoln, died
at 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, in Rochester, N.Y.
Funeral
services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. S.M. Davis officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs.
Plaster was a homemaker.
She
was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Taylorville to William E. and Mary Cora
(Evans) Johnson. She married Ernest E. Plaster on July 31, 1938, in
Lincoln. He preceded her in death.
Surviving
are three daughters, Dianne (David) Feldman of New Providence, N.Y.,
Gloria (Norman) Gray of Pittsford, N.Y., and Marcia L. (Brad) Wade
of Lexington, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her husband and one granddaughter.
