Barbara Brummett

Barbara A. Brummett, 64, of Lincoln died at 11:52 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Kerrigan Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the rosary and wake service at 4 p.m.

Mrs. Brummett was a former aide at Carroll Catholic School in Lincoln and had been a clerk at Reliable Drugs and CVS Pharmacy, both in Lincoln.

She was born Dec. 12, 1936, in Detroit, Mich., to Martin and Anna Ramseyer Cloonan. She married Raymond Brummett on Sept. 7, 1957, in Belle, W.Va. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Stephanie (Troy) Newhouse of Springfield, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Bergman of Lincoln and Leslie Brummett of Lincoln; two sons, Tony (Meredith) Brummett of Lincoln and Tim Brummett of Mason City; seven grandchildren, Katie Brummett, Austin Brummett, Joey Bergman, Mackenzie Newhouse, Emily Bergman, Anthony Brummett and Kegan Newhouse; and one brother, Dennis Cloonan of Boulder, Colo.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Cloonan.

She was a member of Holy Family Church in Lincoln.

She was raised in Dawes, W.Va., and attended school in East Bank, W.Va.

Betty Walker

Betty J. Walker, 74, of Lincoln died at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Walker was cremated. There will be no visitation or funeral services. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Walker was a housewife.

She was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Lincoln to Elmer and Emma (Hurley) Sherwood. She married Robert L. Walker in Clarksdale, Miss., on Jan. 11, 1947.

Surviving are her husband, of Lincoln; two daughters, Suzette Hedenberg of Decatur and Shelley Walker of Blue Mound; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Louella Shafer of Lincoln and Mildred Shelton of Burtonview.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Marjorie Plaster

Marjorie Lorraine Plaster, 81, of Penfield, N.Y., formerly of Lincoln, died at 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, in Rochester, N.Y.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. S.M. Davis officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Plaster was a homemaker.

She was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Taylorville to William E. and Mary Cora (Evans) Johnson. She married Ernest E. Plaster on July 31, 1938, in Lincoln. He preceded her in death.

Surviving are three daughters, Dianne (David) Feldman of New Providence, N.Y., Gloria (Norman) Gray of Pittsford, N.Y., and Marcia L. (Brad) Wade of Lexington, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to Hildebrandt Center for Palliative Care Foundation.
