Daisy Tesh

Daisy M. Tesh, 86, of Lincoln died at 12:54 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Jefferson Street Christian Church in Lincoln, with J.K. Jones and Tom Gerdts officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be for an hour and a half before the service at the church on Friday.

Mrs. Tesh was a homemaker.

She was born Sept. 30, 1914, at Amistad, N.M., to Arthur and Hattie (Forman) Douglass. She married S. Edward Tesh on May 27, 1934, in Ashland. He died March 17, 1999.

Surviving are one son, A. Laverne (and Marcella) Tesh of Lincoln; two daughters, Nancy L. (and Kenneth) Thompson of Indianapolis, Ind., and Becky S. (and Terry) Werth of Licoln; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey (and Cindy) Thompson, Gregory (and Stephanie) Thompson, Corby (and Julie) Thompson, Jill (and Michael) Briggs, Dawn Howard, Dara Tesh, Daryl (and Charma) Tesh, DeAnn (and Bill) Cooper, and Christopher (and Stephanie) Werth; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Dwight (and Marjorie) Douglass of Holiday, Fla.; and one sister, Pearl Skaggs of Pleasant Plains.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Chester and Howard Douglass.

She was a member of Lake Fork Christian Church, Lake Fork.

Memorials may be made to the S. Edward Tesh Scholarship Fund (in care of Lincoln Christian College) or to Christian Village Nursing Home.

Laurel Hasenmyer

Laurel Hasenmyer, 85, of Lincoln died at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Larry Maffett officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at the funeral home.

Hasenmyer farmed in Logan County from 1939 to 1986.

He was born Jan. 26, 1915, in Lincoln to George and Anna (Howland) Hasenmyer. He married Helen Irene Lessen on Jan. 18, 1939, in Lincoln. She survives.

Also surviving are one brother, Louis Hasenmyer of Lincoln, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one grandchild; one brother, George D. Hasenmyer; and two children, Marvin Hasenmyer and Jane Hasenmyer.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lincoln and the Logan County Farm Bureau.

Konstant Aviza

Konstant "Konnie" Aviza, 82, of Lincoln died at 9:25 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Kerrigan Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be one hour before the services at the funeral home.

Aviza had been employed in the maintenance department at Lehn and Fink in Lincoln. He retired in 1982.

He served during World War II with the U.S. Army Engineers in the European Theatre.

He was born April 14, 1918, in Cambridge, Mass., to Joseph and Barbara (Sidlouskas) Aviza. He married Patricia Simpson in Lincoln on June 8, 1950. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Diane Lowe of Emden, Barbara Bernahl of Lincoln and Donna Aviza of Lincoln; two sons, Richard Aviza of Lincoln and David Aviza of Coldwater, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ben Stopolones of Clearwater, Fla.

He was a member of Holy Family Church, American Legion Post 263, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1756 and Lincoln Sportsman Club, all in Lincoln.

Bill Harmon

Bill Harmon, 75, of Lincoln died at 8:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Don Schlough officiating.

Burial will be in Camp Butler Cemetery, Springfield.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Harmon was retired from the U.S. Post Office in Lincoln.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the U.S.S. Cleveland.

He was born May 29, 1925, in Rockford to George Ewing and Ruby (Wilson) Harmon. He married Edna J. Henrichsmeyer on March 24, 1962, in Lincoln.

Surviving are his wife, Edna, of Lincoln; three sons, Timothy (and Linda) Harmon of Pleasant Plains, Kevin Eric Harmon of Chicago, Mark William (and Nancy) Harmon of Fort Collins, Colo.; two granddaughters, Krista Hoban and Hannah Harmon; one grandson, David Harmon; two great-granddaughters, Victoria Hoban and Katelyn Hoban; one great-grandson, Patrick Hoban; one brother, Robert G. Harmon of Decatur; and one sister, Marilyn Dunn of Canton, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

Dollie Robinson

Dollie I. Robinson, 93, of Lincoln died at 5:55 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Christian Village in Lincoln.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tom Gerdts officiating.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Robinson retired from Lincoln Developmental Center after 33 years as nursing supervisor.

She was born Jan. 12, 1907, at Meadville, Mo., to James and Permelia (McKinney) Mier.

Surviving are one son, Jesse (and Phyllis) Robinson of Lincoln; one daughter, Trella (and Neal R.) Young of Riverview, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Louise Hackl of Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers and one daughter, Doris Canada.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Judy Schaub

Judy L. Schaub, 42, of Lincoln died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Dan Sherstad officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schaub worked for Lehn and Fink Products for 16 years.

She was born May 7, 1958, at Lincoln to John and Joyce (Hughes) Coleman. She married Jeffery G. Schaub on March 28, 1993, in Waynesville. He survives.

Also surviving are her parents, of Lincoln; one stepson, Jeffery G. Schaub Jr. of Lincoln; two brothers, Jonathan Keith Coleman of Lincoln and Joseph D. Coleman of Midland City; two sisters, Jamie Michele Coleman and Jean Rene Coleman, both of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

She was a member of Waynesville Christian Church.

Carl Kline

Carl I. Kline, 86, of Lincoln died at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Kline was a retired florist. He had worked at Hembreiker’s Greenhouse, Lincoln.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was born July 15, 1914, at New Holland, to Joseph and Ida (Buchholz) Kline.

Surviving are one brother, Walter Kline of Lincoln; one sister, Beulah Tutter of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Lincoln.

Terrence Irish

Terrence M. "Terry" Irish, 72, of Lincoln, formerly of the Pekin-East Peoria area, died at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens, Pekin.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Irish had been a sales representative for Index Industry and a meat cutter and businessman in the Peoria area.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He was born April 1, 1928, in Peoria to Thomas and Marvel (Skiles) Irish. He married Magdalene Guengerich on Jan. 18, 1976, in Pekin.

Surviving are his wife, of Lincoln; three daughters, Jody (and Steve) Borbely of Lincoln; Karen Bodan of Glen Ellyn and Linda Lee of Pekin; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald (and Carol) Irish of Daphne, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He attended Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

Elberta Hubbell

Elberta Hubbell, 90, of Lincoln died at 10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Kraus Retirement Home in Lincoln.

Cremation rites were accorded. There are no funeral services. Holland and Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, is in charge of arrangements.

Burial will be at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora.

Mrs. Hubbell was a retired schoolteacher.

She was born Feb. 10, 1910, at Herrin to Tony and Ninnie (Collins) Malandrone. She married C.F. Hubbell on Oct. 24, 1931, at Grafton. He died in December of 1959.

Surviving are one daughter, Marilyn Fox of Lincoln; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Zella Malandrone Hardy.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lincoln.

She received a bachelor’s degree from McKendree College and a master’s degree in education from the University of Illinois.

Isabel Rubenking

Isabel Jane Lee Rubenking, 86, of Lincoln died at 1:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Vonderlieth Living Center in Mount Pulaski.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at Lincoln Christian Church, with Tom Gerdts officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mrs. Rubenking retired in 1984 after 32 years as a nurse at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 28, 1914, at Hartsburg to Wayne and Ella Jane (Jackson) Lee. She married Vernon Rubenking on Feb. 25, 1967, in Lincoln. He survives.

Also surviving are five children, Jane E. Horchem, Clifford Seitzer and Rosemary Melton, all of Lincoln, Herbert J. Seitzer of Mount Pulaski and Alan Seitzer of Chandler, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Paul Lee of Waynesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Stanley Lee; and one grandson, Michael Herbert Seitzer.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and the church’s Jolly Seniors and Little Lambs Sunday School class. She was also a member of Alpha Omicron Sorority and Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.

Memorials may be made to the Harvest of Talents fund at Lincoln Christian Church, to the American Cancer Society or the donor’s choice.

 


Arthur Tate

Arthur C. Tate, 80, of Lincoln died at 2:40 a.m. Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be one hour before the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Tate worked at the ammunition plant in Illiopolis and had farmed with his parents.

He was born Dec. 31, 1920, in Lincoln to George W. and Sylvia (Supinger) Tate.

Surviving are one brother, Edward Tate of Washington, and two cousins, Jean Mellott and Dorothy Hupp, both of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Lincoln.

Luray Inherst

Luray "Granny" Inherst, 86, of Mount Pulaski, formerly of Latham, died at 12:50 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Mrs. Inherst had been a retail clerk for A & P grocery store.

She was born Feb. 16, 1914, at Hoenwald, Tenn., to Clarence and Marie (Flurie) Coffee. She married Robert B. Inherst, in New Philadelphia, Ohio, on Dec. 6, 1930.

Surviving are two sons, Patrick R. (and Anne) Inherst of Chesterton, Ind., and Robert L. (and Jeanene Carole) Inherst of Latham; one daughter, Carrie M. (and Ralph E.) Deal of Latham; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother.

She was a member of Latham Baptist Church in Latham.
