L. Miller, 89, of Lincoln died at 11:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001,
at St. Clara’s Manor.
Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, at Immanuel Lutheran
Church of Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas Delk officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be two hours before the service at the church on Saturday.
Mrs.
Miller was a homemaker for her family and a cook at Burtonview
School.
She
was born near Emden on March 29, 1911, to William and Anna (Wagonknecht)
Wiemer. She married Alvin F. Miller on Dec. 21, 1930, at Emden. He
died Jan. 19, 1997.
Surviving
are two sons, Darrell A. (and wife Norma) Miller of Urbana and
Donald G. (and wife Rose) Miller of Lincoln; seven grandchildren;
and nine great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Wilbur Wiemer, and
one sister, Lillian Pfeifer. She was the last of her immediate
family.
She
was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lincoln and of the
church’s 60-plus group, Ladies Aid and Ladies Sewing Circle. She
was also a member of Neighborhood Watch and Farm Bureau.
She
was a graduate of Emden High School.

V. McMahon, 95, of Lincoln died at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3,
2001, at St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.
Cremation
rites were accorded. There will be no services for Mrs. McMahon.
Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln was in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs.
McMahon lived and worked in the Chicago area for many years. She
returned to Lincoln in 1970 after retiring from Wheeler Mfg. Co.,
where she was a power machine operator.
She
was born April 9, 1905, in Corwin Township in Logan County to David
Finley and Amanda Josephine (Shaw) Klarr. She married James McMahon
on May 30, 1928, in Chicago. He died July 5, 1957.
Surviving
are one niece, Patricia Hinkle of Lincoln, and three nephews.
As
one of 10 children, she was the last of her immediate family.
She
was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Bloomington.

was a retired florist. He had worked at Hembreiker’s Greenhouse,
Lincoln.
He
was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

was born July 15, 1914, at New Holland, to Joseph and Ida (Buchholz)
Kline.
Surviving
are one brother, Walter Kline of Lincoln; one sister, Beulah Tutter
of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
He
was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Lincoln.

C. Donath, 79, of Storm Lake, Iowa, formerly of Lincoln, died at
9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Mercy Hospital in Sioux City,
Iowa. He had been ill for a short time.
Funeral
services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at Holy Family Church
in Lincoln, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating.
Burial,
with military rites, will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, at Kerrigan Funeral Home in
Lincoln. The rosary and wake service will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at
the funeral home.
Donath
was employed by Illico Oil Co. in Lincoln for over 40 years. He
retired as purchasing agent in 1978.
He
served with the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He
was born June 19, 1921, in Lincoln to Benjamin F. and Coletha
(Seitz) Donath. He married Ruth Jones on July 6, 1942, in Lincoln.
She survives.
Also
surviving are one daughter, Karen Donath of Bloomington; two sons,
Michael (and Martha) Donath of Lincoln and Benjamin (and Tina)
Donath of Storm Lake, Iowa; one granddaughter; two sisters, Alma
Twardos of Lincoln and Edna Miller of Chestervale; and one brother,
Paul Donath of Lincoln.
He
was a member of Holy Family Church in Lincoln.

M. "Terry" Irish, 72, of Lincoln, formerly of the Pekin-East
Peoria area, died at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Memorial

Irish. He married Magdalene Guengerich on Jan. 18, 1976, in Pekin.
Surviving
are his wife, of Lincoln; three daughters, Jody (and Steve) Borbely
of Lincoln; Karen Bodan of Glen Ellyn and Linda Lee of Pekin; seven
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald
(and Carol) Irish of Daphne, Ala.
He
was preceded in death by his parents.
He
attended Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

Kraus Retirement Home in Lincoln.

Mrs.
Hubbell was a retired schoolteacher.
She
was born Feb. 10, 1910, at Herrin to Tony and Ninnie (Collins)
Malandrone. She married C.F. Hubbell on Oct. 24, 1931, at Grafton.
He died in December of 1959.
Surviving
are one daughter, Marilyn Fox of Lincoln; two grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by a sister, Zella Malandrone Hardy.
She
was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lincoln.
She
received a bachelor’s degree from McKendree College and a master’s
degree in education from the University of Illinois.

one daughter, Doris Canada.
She

Ashland. He died March 17, 1999.

daughters, Nancy L. (and Kenneth) Thompson of Indianapolis, Ind.,
and Becky S. (and Terry) Werth of Licoln; nine grandchildren,
Jeffrey (and Cindy) Thompson, Gregory (and Stephanie) Thompson,
Corby (and Julie) Thompson, Jill (and Michael) Briggs, Dawn Howard,
Dara Tesh, Daryl (and Charma) Tesh, DeAnn (and Bill) Cooper, and
Christopher (and Stephanie) Werth; 17 great-grandchildren; one
brother, Dwight (and Marjorie) Douglass of Holiday, Fla.; and one
sister, Pearl Skaggs of Pleasant Plains.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers,
Chester and Howard Douglass.

Lincoln. She survives.

surviving are one brother, Louis Hasenmyer of Lincoln, and two
grandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by one grandchild; one brother, George D.
Hasenmyer; and two children, Marvin Hasenmyer and Jane Hasenmyer.
He

Logan County Farm Bureau.

Lincoln.
