steamrolled Taylorville on Saturday night's game played at
Taylorville.

Lincoln
set the lead with a doubled score of 16 to Taylorville's eight by
the end of the first quarter. Lincoln was 37-12 at halftime, 45-18
in the third quarter, and winning in the fourth with 61-35 points.
High
scorer Gregg Alexander rang up 14 points in the first half, adding
two more for a total of 16 points by games end.
Lincoln
scored five 3-point field goals: Knopp 2, Williams, Komnick and
Tungate.

Swimmers
break five team records, set a personal best at invitational this
weekend

Coach
Heidi Heidbreder reports the Lincoln Gator Swim Club attended an
open invitational in Decatur this weekend. The
Seth Dunscomb New Year opener was Jan. 5-7 at Millikin University. Swimmers succeeded in
bringing home numerous awards, breaking team records and achieving
new personal highs.

Sam
Wood and Sean Weaver set new records for the Lincoln Gators. Wood
(age 8 and under boys) swam the 100-yard individual medley (25 yards
fly, 25 yards back, 25 yards breast and 25 yards freestyle) in a
time of 1:41.90. Weaver
(age 13 and 14 boys) set four new team records. He swam the 100 fly
in a time of 1:01.46, the 200 IM in 2:21.33, the 100 free in 57.56
and the 100 breast in a time of 1:15.25.
One
swimmer turned in a new personal best time, moving her up to Class A
in that event.
Gabrielle
Ernst achieved her first A time in the 50 freestyle with 30.32.

Kelsey
Bruce recognized
[JAN.
8, 2001]
Former
Lincoln volleyball player Kelsey Bruce was recognized for her
achievements this season as a volleyball player for Illinois College
in Jacksonville. Bruce brought great value to the team and was
awarded a varsity letter for her accomplishments in the NCAA
Division III program. She hit .186 for the season and had 185 kills,
210 digs, 29 service aces, a .947 serve percentage and 77 blocks. As
a first-year player, Bruce was recognized for her solid performance
and consistency throughout the season.

Pulaski vs. Hartsburg-Emden
Two
equally valued neighbors to Lincoln met on the courts Friday night.
The Mount Pulaski Hill Toppers faced off against the
Hartsburg-Emden Stags on the Stags home court.
The Hill Toppers took an early lead, 20 - 5 in the first
quarter against the Hartem Stags.
They widened their lead to more than double, 45 - 17 by half
time. The ending third quarter score was 68 - 33.
Hartsburg came alive gaining 27 points, almost half their
total game points, in the fourth quarter.
While Mount Pulaski only made a 12 point increase.
Still, the Mount Pulaski Hill Toppers walked away with the
win, final score 80 60.

Taking an early lead, the Illini trounced the Williamsville

the lead and kept it through out the game.

Lincoln
girls traveled to Taylorville yesterday. Despite staying behind for
three quarters, Lincoln beat Taylorville 33-31.
Humbert
led Lincoln in most points scored with 13. She made four field goals
and five free throws. Bunch scored both of the teams two
3-pointers and made one additional field goal for eight points. Kirk
also scored eight points in the game with four field goals. Oller
made four points in the game with one field goal and two free
throws. Team totals were 12 field goals and seven free throws.
The
Lincoln junior varsity girls team also won against Taylorville,
46-30.
Pleasant
Plains vs. Illini Central
at Mason City
Illini
Central girls played Pleasant Plains in a tournament at Mason City.
Illini Central lost to Pleasant Plains 35-68.
Illini
Central had five 3-point field goals. Three of those 3-pointers were
scored by Damm. She had a total of six field goals and two free
throws for 17 points. The other two 3-pointers were scored by
Montgomery. She had a total of three field goals and one free throw
for nine points. Other individual statistics for the game were
Harvey 1-0-2, Francis 1-0-2, Blackstock 0-3-3 and Winkleman 1-0-2.
Team totals were 12 field goals and six free throws.

Porta vs. Mount Pulaski
at Mount Pulaski
Mount
Pulaski girls hosted Petersburg Porta in tournament play. Scores ran
close throughout the game. The first three quarters ended at 9-7,
17-18 and 29-31. Petersburg Porta finished off the game just ahead
of Mount Pulaski to win 50-48.
Faith
led the team in 3-pointers, scoring three of Mount Pualskis four
3-point field goals. She also scored three free throws for 12 points
total. Sanders scored another 12 points in the game with five field
goals and two free throws. Beckers led the team in most points
scored with 16. She scored six field goals and four free throws.
Rucks scored the fourth 3-pointer for Mount Pulaski and made one
additional field goal for five points. Other individual statistics
for the game were as follows: Howe 0-1-1 and Jason 0-2-2. Team
totals for the game were 16 field goals and 12 free throws.
