witnessed a real barnburner on the Chillicothe court Tuesday night.
Olympia and IVC played their hearts out all four quarters before
time was up and IVC claimed the win by two points.

32-32, 49-51.

The
courts heated up Monday night when the Lady Railers traveled to
Springfield to meet Springfield Lanphier. After setting a nice lead
in the first half, the Railers had to pick up the tempo as Lanphier
poured on the heat in the second half. The Railers found themselves
behind by three points 15 seconds before game end. It was Beckee
Oller’s two plays for four points in the last 15 seconds that gave
the Lady Railers their win by only one point, 43-42.

suffered a loss on Eureka’s home court. Eureka took the lead in

Olympia girls warmed their home court with a win over Eureka. Taking
the lead in the first quarter, they led each quarter, 16-15, 36-27,
54-43, for a final score of 64-53.

Bachman 1-4-6, Gaither 3-0-7, Gale 5-0-10, Goebel 1-0-2, Litwiller

Illini
Central lost by four points on their home court in Mason City in a
major upset against Springfield Ursuline. Both teams fought for the
lead and ran neck in neck from start to finish.

Mount
Pulaski girls traveled to Virden Monday night. The Hilltoppers put
in a top-end game performance, trailing by only four points in the
third quarter, but the lead stayed just out of their reach. Virden
won by five points.

scores (Mount Pulaski first): 8-15, 16-23, 33-37, 45-50.
Mount
Pulaski was led by high scorer Sanders, who made 22 points with 10
field goals, one of those a 3-pointer, and a free throw.

the end of the first quarter. Lincoln was 37-12 at halftime, 45-18
in the third quarter, winning in the fourth with 61-35.

scorer Gregg Alexander rang up 14 points in the first half, adding
two more for a total of 16 points by game’s end.

Tungate.

break five team records, set a personal best at invitational this
weekend

Coach
Heidi Heidbreder reports the Lincoln Gator Swim Club attended an
open invitational in Decatur this weekend. The
Seth Dunscomb New Year opener was Jan. 5-7 at Millikin University. Swimmers succeeded in
bringing home numerous awards, breaking team records and achieving
new personal highs.

Sam
Wood and Sean Weaver set new records for the Lincoln Gators. Wood
(age 8 and under boys) swam the 100-yard individual medley (25 yards
fly, 25 yards back, 25 yards breast and 25 yards freestyle) in a
time of 1:41.90. Weaver
(age 13 and 14 boys) set four new team records. He swam the 100 fly
in a time of 1:01.46, the 200 IM in 2:21.33, the 100 free in 57.56
and the 100 breast in a time of 1:15.25.
One
swimmer turned in a new personal best time, moving her up to Class A
in that event.
Gabrielle
Ernst achieved her first A time in the 50 freestyle with 30.32.

Bruce recognized

Former
Lincoln volleyball player Kelsey Bruce was recognized for her
achievements this season as a volleyball player for Illinois College
in Jacksonville. Bruce brought great value to the team and was
awarded a varsity letter for her accomplishments in the NCAA
Division III program. She hit .186 for the season and had 185 kills,
210 digs, 29 service aces, a .947 serve percentage and 77 blocks. As
a first-year player, Bruce was recognized for her solid performance
and consistency throughout the season.

Pulaski vs. Hartsburg-Emden
Two
equally valued neighbors to Lincoln met on the courts Friday night.
The Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers faced off against the
Hartsburg-Emden Stags on the Stags' home court.
The Hilltoppers took an early lead, 20-5, in the first
quarter against the Hartem Stags.
They widened their lead to more than double, 45-17, by halftime. The
score at the end of the third quarter was 68-33.
Hartsburg came alive, gaining 27 points, almost half their
total game points, in the fourth quarter,
while Mount Pulaski made only a 12-point increase.
Still, the Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers walked away with the
win. The final score was 80-60.

stats for Mount Pulaski: Brown 8-4-20, Davis 2-0-4, Dirks 1-0-3,
