Mae Kiliman, 79, of Lincoln died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, March 18,
2001, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 22, at Holland and Barry
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Donald Schlough officiating.
Burial
will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be one hour before the service at the funeral home.
She
owned a restaurant in Lincoln, a beauty shop in Springfield, farmed
at Beason and was a doll-maker and songwriter.
She
was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Lincoln to Jesse M. and Ethel M. Ackerson
Henson.
Her
survivors include two children, Jesse F. Henson of Phoenix, Ariz.,
and Danny L. Henson of Baltimore, Md.; 13 grandchildren; 21
great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and two
siblings, Marion Henson of Riverside, Calif., and Jesse C. Henson of
Wisconsin.
She
was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Charles Henson.
She
was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God, Eagles, Order of Zoyr,
Ladies Auxiliary and the American Poet Society.
Memorials
may be made to the Diabetes Society.

Mary
J. Voyles, 90, of Lincoln died at 8 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2001,
at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral
services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, at Second Baptist
Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Glenn Shelton officiating.
Burial
will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Visitation
will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at Holland and Barry Funeral
Home in Lincoln and at the church for one hour before the service
time on Tuesday.
Mrs.
Voyles was a homemaker for her family.
She
was born Feb. 1, 1911, in Lincoln to Joe and Sadie Martin. She
married Carl F. Voyles on June 2, 1926, in Springfield.
Surviving
are three daughters, Donna DeRight and husband Al of Chestnut,
Maxine Nelson and husband Danny of Lincoln and Linda Blair and
husband Leon of Lincoln; one son, Larry Voyles and wife Jane of
Lincoln; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three children.
She
attended Second Baptist Church of Lincoln.
She
formerly lived in Beason for 40 years.
In
lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family of Mary J.
Voyles.

‘Jack’ Lakes
Lyle
B. "Jack" Lakes, 69, of Atlanta died at 9 a.m. Saturday,
March 17, 2001, at St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.
Graveside
services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Atlanta Cemetery. David
Harmon will officiate.
Visitation,
at Quiram Funeral Home in Atlanta, will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday
until the service time.
Lakes
was employed for many years at the Hoblit Seed Company in Atlanta.
He retired in 1994.
He
was born Nov. 30, 1931, in Atlanta to Bernard and Evelyn (Conover)
Lakes. He married Ruby Jane White on Feb. 11, 1994, at Atlanta. She
survives.
Also
surviving are two stepdaughters, Kathryn A. (Eric) Atchison of
Atlanta and Carrie L. White of Atlanta; one stepson, Timothy C.
White of McLean; and six stepgrandchildren.
He
was preceded in death by his parents.
He
was a member of Atlanta Christian Church and a former member of the
Atlanta Rotary Club.
Memorial
