[Vicki Huelskoetter, a local pig farmer, talks to her audience about raising pigs.]

[After viewing a video about pig farming, students got to touch two different kinds of pig feed, one for weaned pigs and one for adults.  Huelskoetter grows her own feed.]

[This presentation board tells students about a pig’s growth, nutrition and eventual products.]

[Another local pig farmer, Kent Paulus, is holding a 4-week-old, 20-pound piglet.  He described how farmers care for piglets at birth by clipping their teeth and tails.  Farmers also notch their pig’s ears to distinguish between liters.]

[At this station of the soybean session, Marty Ahrends and Sharon Jones assisted  students constructing a bracelet to remind them what the beans need to grow:  soil, water, night, sun, oxygen and more.  Each colored bead represented a different ingredient.]
