OVER THE NOON HOUR (CDT)

Area community leaders from Healthy Communities Partnership met with a steering team from a national organization, the Academy of Health, Science and Research, in an all-afternoon conference on Monday.  The groups strategized means of continuing to work together to improve the quality of life in our community.  Their past work has gained respect and recognition on state and national levels.

HCP is an umbrella organization which coordinates the work of many service organizations in the area.  Members are Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, the Logan County Health Department, Family Medical Center, Logan-Mason Mental Health and the Lincoln-Logan County Chamber of Commerce.  Begun in 1997 by the Chamber of Commerce, HCP sponsors four task forces: Healthy Families; Rural Health Partnership; Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD); and Domestic Abuse and Violence Task Forces.
