[APRIL 6, 2004]  SPRINGFIELD -- State Sen. Larry Bomke, R-Springfield, is currently circulating petitions objecting to gubernatorial plans that attack Illinois' agriculture community. The plans would repeal the state's "feed and seed" sales tax exemption for farmers with gross income of more than $1 million, raid several ag funds, eliminate the C-FAR program, and cap or restructure funding in the horse-racing industry.

Bomke, pictured here with aide Lori Bottrell, is sending petitions to local farm bureaus and agriculture groups.

To sign a petition or get copies to circulate in your community, contact Sen. Bomke at (217) 782-0228 or senator_bomke@yahoo.com. To sign up for e-mail updates on agriculture issues, go to www.senategop.state.il.us.
