Cook, Lakers win Pacific Division title     Send a link to a friend

[APRIL 15, 2004]  In Brian Cook's first year as a professional, his Los Angeles Lakers won another Pacific Division title with a thrilling 105-104 double-overtime victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. Cook had four points in 11 minutes of action. He was called on repeatedly throughout the season when the stars of the Lakers were all banged up with injuries.

With the victory the Lakers locked down the No. 2 seed in the West. They will now host the Houston Rockets starting Saturday in LA.

More playing time could be on the horizon for Cook, as Karl Malone sprained his ankle severely in LA's win.
