Medical lab week     Send a link to a friend

[APRIL 17, 2004]  Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital is participating in this year's upcoming observance of National Medical Laboratory Week, with the theme "Laboratory Professionals: Working with You for Better Health."

Clinical laboratory professionals are important members of today’s health care team, and your quality medical care depends on them. Since medical laboratory staff members often work "behind closed doors" in the lab, few people know much about the important testing they perform. Each day, nurses, physicians and other medical workers rely on lab professionals to perform testing that helps provide a complete picture of a patient’s health. Their work helps take the guesswork out of medicine.

Every day, pathologists and laboratory professionals across the country use their skills and knowledge to save lives. They are true heroes.
