Lincoln College softball vs. Lincoln Land    Send a link to a friend

[APRIL 29, 2004]  Lincoln College split a softball doubleheader against Lincoln Land here Wednesday afternoon, winning the opener 6-2 and dropping the nightcap 5-4. The Lynx now stand at 17-25 overall and 10-17 in Central Illinois Conference play.

Kelly Nader, Ashley Shaw and Courtney Baumann each had two hits to lead the Lynx in a seven-hit attack in the opener. Amanda Chrisos (10-12) was the winning pitcher, giving up five hits while striking out one and walking one.

"Amanda, once again, gave us a solid pitching performance," said Lincoln coach John Andrews.

In the second game, Lincoln Land scored three times is the top of the seventh to gain the victory.

Andrews said, "Kelly pitched good enough to win, giving up just one earned run, but errors killed us."

Beth Smith, Norissa Stetter and Maxine Schlee had a pair of hits each for the Lynx. Jen Clemings had a triple to drive in a pair of runs in the three-run fifth.
