URBANA -- Help with the
holidays, especially Christmas trees and poinsettia plants, is just
a click of the mouse away, thanks to University of Illinois
Extension. Two sites, "Christmas Trees & More" and "The Poinsettia
Pages," can be very useful as people plan their holiday decorating,
said Jane Scherer, U of I Extension urban programs specialist.
User-friendly information about types of Christmas trees as well as
the locations of tree farms in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and
Wisconsin is available on the website. |
The sites are accessible from the
Extension's Urban Programs Resources Network Web page at
http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/.
"The Christmas tree and poinsettia
sites are included in the 'Hort
Corner' portion of the website," said Scherer. "Each site
includes not only history, care, selection and facts about the two
plants, but information on selection and care and frequently asked
questions."
The Christmas tree site may be
accessed directly at
http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/trees/index.html and the poinsettia
site is at
http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/poinsettia/index.html.
