[DEC. 18, 2004]  An analyst for the Chicago Sun-Times interpreted 2004 reading and math scores of Illinois students and ranked the schools. Lists of the top-50 high schools and the top-50 elementary schools in the state were created using a statistical method called standardizing.

Mount Pulaski High School was ranked 25th and is one of 11 in the top 50 with a 100 percent graduation rate.

In addition, there were no Logan County schools on either the Academic Early Warning Status nor on the Academic Watch Status lists.

Lincoln Elementary School District 27 made the Improvement Status list with marks for adequate yearly progress in math and reading.
