State historic sites holiday schedule

SPRINGFIELD -- Most of the state historic sites administered
by the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 31
and Jan. 1 to observe the Christmas and New Year's holidays.

All sites will be closed on Christmas
Day with the exception of the Colony Church at Bishop Hill State
Historic Site, which will have its annual Julotta church service at
6 a.m. It will then be closed the rest of the day.
All state historic sites will be closed
on New Year's Day.
All state historic sites will be
closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve with the following
exceptions: The Dana-Thomas House in Springfield will be open from 9
a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 24 and 31 for holiday tours, and the Old State
Capitol in Springfield and Fort de Chartres in Prairie du Rocher
will be open only during the evening of Dec. 31 for New Year's Eve
public events.
