The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Computer classes available
Call to reserve your place for
either the Computer Basics class scheduled for Feb. 3-6 or the
E-Mail/Internet class Feb. 24-27. Both classes run from 9:30 to
10:45 a.m. each day. The fee is only $15 for members and $18 for
nonmembers.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
Call 732-6132 for an
appointment as soon as you have received all pertinent 2003 income
tax documents (Social Security statement, 1099s, etc.). Volunteers
will be available on Mondays and Fridays to prepare simple returns.

Senior Health Assistance Program
Circuit Breaker appointments
are now available on Mondays all day and on Friday mornings for
people who need help to complete the renewal or new application
forms for grant assistance with pharmaceutical drugs, property taxes
and license plates. Call 732-6132 for an appointment.
The Oasis has forms available
for the Illinois Rx Buying Club.
Tuesday lunch
Pick up your $3.50 lunch ticket
by noon Monday, Feb. 2, for the 11:30 a.m. Tuesday lunch, featuring
roast beef sandwich with gravy, potato chips and cole slaw.

"Brown bag" appointments available
The pharmacist will be on-site
from 1 to 4 p.m. Feb. 3 to review with you all prescriptions,
over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements you are taking.
Hearing screening
Appointments are available
between 10 a.m. and noon Wednesday, Feb. 4, to have your hearing
checked without charge. Call 732-6132 for an appointment.

Winners
Larry Van Bibber and Tom
Garrison won weekend pool honors. During the week Helen Cart and
Mable Hoagland were the lucky pinochle winners.
