[JAN. 16, 2004]  If you enjoy sharing knowledge and working with youth, consider working with the young people enrolled in the 4-H program in Logan County!

The Logan County 4-H program needs volunteers who have interest in spending time with young people and who want to learn alongside them. People who can help provide guidance to 4-H activities, people with specific skills and people with project interests are needed. Skills and interests such as photography, gardening, sewing and livestock can always be used.

About 350 young people are currently enrolled in the county's program and are involved in a variety of activities and projects.

A learn-by-doing program, 4-H is part of University of Illinois Extension, which has faculty and staff members on the Urbana-Champaign campus and in most Illinois counties, including Logan County.

People interested in helping with the 4-H program are encouraged to call Amy or Patty at the Logan County U of I Extension office, (217) 732-8289.
