Coach Carrie Schreiber said: "We were very proud of the team today. It was a tougher regional than we have faced in the last few years, and we were focused on advancing all events to sectional and not necessarily winning, because we know Pekin has a great team. We were lucky that it just went our way today."

Lincoln scored 68.5 points to 65.5 points scored by Pekin.

An opportunity to meet the sectional speech team will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the high school auditorium. The event was rescheduled due to inclement weather last week.
