Ed Jodlowski, one of the head coaches
for the Lincoln team, stated: "We tell the kids all year long that
we coach for the sectional tournament and to advance them to the
state tournament. Not to sound too greedy, but the events we did
not advance to state have been very strong all year, and at the
end of the day, it was difficult to think that they would not be
advancing... It certainly was a bittersweet day. Winning a
sectional trophy is sweet, but seeing kids disappointed because
they were so close to advancing was bitter.
"All in
all we are proud. We won the sectional, we advanced seven events
to state, and now we have to get them ready for next weekend."
