The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.

Alzheimer
support group
If you need support or information on
assistance available in connection with Alzheimer's disease, please
join the group facilitated by a representative from Maple Ridge Care
Centre on Thursday at 1 p.m. at The Oasis. Reservations are not
necessary.
Medicare
and health insurance
The Illinois Senior Health Insurance
Program can help guide you through your health insurance problems. A
representative is at the senior center by appointment from 2 to 4
p.m. each Thursday. Call 732-6132 for an appointment.

Board
meeting
The Oasis board meeting is scheduled
for 5 p.m. Thursday. All the meetings are open to the public. The
board must receive notification in writing on or before the fifth
day of the month when the meeting occurs in order to schedule agenda
items.
Memories
class
The monthly Memories class is scheduled
for 3:45 p.m. Friday. A reservation is not necessary. Just bring
your pen and paper and learn the skills needed to preserve memories
for family and friends. The class is facilitated by Rebecca Johnson.
SHARE
orders
February food orders will be available
for pickup on Friday from 4 to 5:30 p.m. March orders may also be
placed then. The Self Help and Resource Sharing Exchange is a
reduced-cost food program sponsored by the Diocese of Peoria and is
open to everyone, regardless of age or income.

Buy your Tuesday lunch ticket by noon
on Monday, Feb. 23, for a delicious meal of hamburger, french fries,
cole slaw, dessert and drink. The cost is $3.50.
February
birthday party
Join in the celebration Monday, Feb.
23, at 1:30 p.m. to observe your February birthday. Bring your
friends.
Veterans
Administration
The Veterans Administration
representative will resume biweekly service at the senior center on
Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 9 to 11:45 a.m. An appointment is not
necessary.

Think
tank
Get together with the group at 9 a.m.
Wednesday, Feb. 25, to hear Bobbi Abbott review "Chamber of Commerce
Plans -- 2004." Join us for this informative discussion and a
question-and-answer session.
Game
winners
Larry and Les Van Bibber won pinochle
honors Friday and Sunday evening, respectively. During the week D.J.
Paxton-Butler and Mable Hoagland won weekday pinochle honors.
