Custodio infant

The infant child of Alexander Jr. and Jayne Lux Custodio of San Jose died Thursday (July 15, 2004) at the Carol Jo Vecchie Center in Springfield.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Green Hill Cemetery, rural San Jose, with the Rev. Stephen King officiating.

Hurley Funeral Home of San Jose is handling arrangements.

Besides the parents, other family members are a brother, Alexander Custodio, at home, and the paternal grandparents, Alexander Sr. and Camia Custodio of Altamonte Springs, Fla.

Maternal grandparents preceded the infant in death.


Leota Stivers

Leota H. Stivers, 91, of Mount Pulaski died July 11, 2004, at 3:30 a.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.

Her funeral was Saturday morning at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with John Robertson officiating. Visitation preceded the service.

Burial is in Hall Cemetery, rural Blue Mound.

Mrs. Stivers was a homemaker.

She was born Oct. 16, 1912, in Macon County to Albert and Grace Reazin Gemmer. She married Herbert F. Stivers in Champaign on Aug. 24, 1949. He died Jan. 28, 1994.

She is survived by one stepson, Richard (and Karen) Stivers of Bloomington; one stepdaughter, Linda (and Roger) Thomas of Fountain Valley, Calif.; one sister, Shirley Wehling of Pleasant Hills, Ohio; seven stepgrandchildren, Karen Thomas, Laura Thomas, John Thomas, Debra Kus, Nancy Lucero, Brad Stivers and Christopher Chester; six step-great-grandchildren, Mitzi Payton, Emily Brown, Natalie Mullins, John Brown II, Nikko Stivers and Spiro Stivers; and one step-great-great-grandchild, Michael Ray Stotts.

She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Ryan, Irene Skaggs and Opal Brown.

She was a member of Mount Pulaski Christian Church, the Loyal Daughters of the church and the Mount Pulaski Woman's Club.

Memorials may be made to the Mount Pulaski Christian Church building fund or to Vonderlieth Living Center.

Abigail Evelhoch

Abigail L. Evelhoch, 85, of Lincoln died Wednesday (July 14, 2004) at 3:25 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Wallace Reifsteck officiating. Visitation was on Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mrs. Evelhoch was a homemaker.

She was born July 1, 1919, in DePue to Henry H. and Abie Ellis Croisant. She married Leo Earl Evelhoch on June 3, 1937, in Peoria. He died Jan. 24, 2000.

She is survived by one son, Robert "Bucky" (and Fern) Evelhoch of Wheaton; one daughter, Donna (and Mickey) Robinson of Lincoln; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Alice (and Chuck) Bartoli of Cherry.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas; two brothers; and one sister.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln, to which memorials may be made.
