Baby-sitter training and pet first-aid classes scheduled

[JULY 30, 2004]  SPRINGFIELD -- Baby-sitter training and a pet first-aid class will be offered at the local Extension office in mid-August by Central Illinois Economic Development Corporation in conjunction with the American Red Cross.

The pet first-aid class will be Monday, Aug. 16, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the meeting room at the University of Illinois Extension office on the northwest corner of the fairgrounds. The cost is $20 and can be paid that afternoon. Those in attendance will learn first-aid techniques to help their pets.

The baby-sitter training, for ages 11-15, will be Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Extension office. The cost of the class will be $25 and can be paid when arriving that day. Participants should plan to bring a sack lunch to be eaten during the lunch break. Please call 732-8289 by Aug. 9 to register to attend.
